Sveltin Borisov Joins MYArts as Executive Director

MYArts is excited to welcome Svetlin Borisov as its next Executive Director.

When Svetlin joins on January 26, it marks an important milestone in the Center’s continuing evolution in supporting its founding members—Children’s Theater of Madison and Madison Youth Choirs—along with other youth arts groups in Madison.

Following a thoughtful and deliberate search, the Board of Directors focused on the leadership needed to steward the Center’s next chapter—one rooted in strong infrastructure, collaboration, and care for the ecosystem that brings MYArts to life each day.

“As the Center looks ahead, we are excited by the strategic insight, curiosity, and energy Svetlin brings to this role,” said Pam Krill, Board president. “His approach reflects both the complexity of this shared community asset and the opportunity it holds for the young people and organizations it serves.”

Svetlin brings more than two decades of leadership experience spanning education, healthcare, community development, and cultural organizations. His work has consistently centered on building durable systems, strengthening partnerships, and supporting mission-driven organizations through periods of growth and change—experience well aligned with MYArts’ role as a collaborative, partnership-based organization.

He shared, “I’m excited to work alongside the team – building on the vision of the founding organizations and strengthening MYArts as a safe, welcoming space.”

As Svetlin steps into his role, the Board of Directors extends its deep appreciation to Allen Ebert and Lynn Hembel, who served as interim co-directors during this transition. Their leadership provided stability, continuity, and care during a pivotal period for the Center.

With Svetlin’s arrival, MYArts looks ahead with gratitude for the foundations that have been built and optimism for what comes next—continuing to grow as a vibrant, inclusive place where young people, artists, and organizations come together in service of creativity, learning, and community.
